You can inspire creativity in youth, improve their writing skills, and build bridges to college and careers.

Your support will help transform ASU Polytechnic’s Young Authors’ Studio into a free online program, which will benefit young people everywhere. The program will include a writing website with activities for youth in grades 5-12, personalized writing feedback from mentors, and a public event.

The website will showcase a variety of categories of writing, including gate-opening forms (for college entry and job application), research and reporting, literary forms, visual narratives, digital storytelling, and writing for performance. Some of the specific forms of writing available will include college application essays, articles, stories, comics, animation, and plays. In addition, author videos are planned for the website. These videos will highlight local writers, organizations, and students and professors from many different colleges at ASU. The program will also feature a public event each year, a celebration of writing for all ages.

Your donation will benefit multiple levels of learners, as ASU students who are enrolled in ENG 484/584 also play an important role in Young Authors Online. In addition to providing advice to the youth writers, they promote the program and run the public event. These experiences help ASU students cultivate real-world leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that are valued by employers.

Donors like you can improve writing education for youth and help ASU students gain valuable skills for the world of work.
