Learn more about your impact

Gifts to the Friends of German Studies fund eases the financial challenges associated with the cost of higher education, allowing students to work fewer hours outside of their educational programs in order to focus on their academic careers. Through donor support, we are able to not only provide students scholarship awards, we also give students the opportunity to connect with innovative guest speakers and experience events that bring meaningful cultural issues to life. These opportunities also allow faculty to make connections that develop into intellectual collaboration across institutions, supporting cutting-edge faculty research.

The minor in German has surpassed my expectations. I have worked with amazing professors who provide a more personal learning style and approach to absorbing, processing and analyzing information."

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.

I believe ASU is a major life force in our community and I want to do my part to help it thrive."
