The Cheryl and Andy Mandala Family Scholarship provides scholarship funding for Cronkite students.
The opportunity for a young reporter to prowl the halls of Congress and the federal agencies with an eye towards interpreting what the rules, regulations and laws mean can provide the public with a plain-English explanation of usually arcane financial language that is unavailable from any other location but the nation's capital. Our hope is that the recipient of this award would use his or her talents to peel away layers of often obscure federalese to help his or her readers understand what they all mean.
