Sharon Lee Thorson was born in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Kinman College of Business in Spokane. She worked at Aerojet in Sacramento, CA for 10 years before working with the State Assembly and State Legislature. She worked with members of the legislature, their staff, lobbyists, constituents and the general public, which she did with grace and humor before retiring in 2001 after 29 years of service. She moved to Yuma in 2001 to care for her mother. She enjoyed reading, cooking, drawing, studying the Bible, shopping, walking and enjoying her cat. She was selfless with her time and finances when it came to helping others, which was her greatest joy.
